Keep the good people in your life close to you

A short post this week, prompted by a few things which have happened over the past few days to remind me what is truly valuable and important in life.

Perhaps it’s a sign of getting older and wiser but it’s really easy for me these days to identify the good people in my life. The important people. Those who I value and treasure. Most of them I have shared interests with. Almost all of them I share values, beliefs, and a general outlook on life with. I’ve been through difficult times with some of them yet we’ve emerged in better places. These are the type of people I know I could call at any time, day or night, and they’d be there for me.

They’re the type of people we need to stay close to. Don’t ever underappreciate them. Make sure they know how you feel about them. The old adage ‘quality, not quantity’ is especially true here. You don’t need a huge amount of good people in your life and, despite what Facebook tells you, you certainly don’t have anything like 1000+ true friends. Hopefully you’ll find it easy to identify who your good people are – don’t ever lose them…

As always, thanks for reading and take care.

Best wishes.

Mick
